Friction loss of vacuum pump oil

DVE vacuum pump oil plays the role of sealing, lubricating, cooling and opening the exhaust valve in the pump, so the pump oil participates in compression and friction, and reduces the friction between various parts.
For the spool valve pump without an oil pump, as long as the clearance between the spool valve and the pump cover and the middle partition is proper, the oil intake of the pump will be automatically adjusted.
However, if it is equipped with an oil pump, the flow rate of the oil pump must be carefully calculated, usually (7~10)x10-4S (S is the pumping speed L/s). If the amount of oil is too large, it will cause the DVE vacuum pump to enter the pump. When it becomes an oil pump, not only the compression work increases, but also the friction loss increases sharply.
The kinematic viscosity of the pump oil varies greatly with temperature. For example, the V100 oil of a certain factory has a viscosity of 104.62mm2/s at 40 and 11.63mm2/s at 100.
Therefore, under the condition of ensuring the working vacuum, appropriately increasing the pump temperature is beneficial to reducing the power consumption. We have proved through experiments that increasing the pump temperature from 50 to 70 can reduce the power consumption by 7%, and more Conducive to the removal of condensable steam, while also reducing cooling water consumption.
DVE vacuum pump oil generally freezes at -12, so it is not advisable for some units in the north to place the pump outdoors.
This not only is not conducive to the start of the pump, but also in a short time after the start of the pump, some parts are in a state of lack of oil or less oil, which is likely to cause damage to the pump.
